Are you in the midst of planning your big day?  Feeling stuck on unique ideas that could set your wedding apart from the others you’ve attended?  Fret no more!  Below I have a few unique suggestions, that I would consider more like wonderful wedding secrets, that will allow you two the perfect, one-of-a-kind reception you desire!

Have A Welcome Party   Your wedding weekend should be a full out celebration with your friends and family! Consider having a bridal party or family member host a welcome party for you two and your guests the night before the wedding. This allows all your guests to mingle and get to know each other before the big day. Since they will already be getting the introducing and mingling out of the way the night before, the wedding day can be a full out celebration (as it should be!)

Day-Of Coordinator Is A Must!   If you didn’t hire a wedding planner, that is perfectly fine! There are several wedding planners that offer “day-of” packages in addition to their full services. With that being said, it is almost essential to have a day-of wedding planner help coordinate your big day. From keeping the formalities in check, to making sure your entertainment is timely and on it, this individual will keep you stress-free and allow you to enjoy your reception without worrying if the late-night snacks have been displayed or not!

Create A Kid Zone   We all love the little ones and want them to be included at the wedding, however it can be challenging to keep them entertained throughout the whole day. Consider creating a “kid zone” during your reception. If you seat the couples who have children next to each other,  you could add a few “kid tables,” beside them and include several coloring books, toys and fun costumes that they could play with during the reception. This also allows for mom and dad to be able to mingle and have a good time with everyone else. A win-win!

Provide A Tasting Station   Want to spice up your open bar with something more creative? Consider doing a tasting station that incorporates your favorite drink! This could be anything from craft beer to wine or even whiskey! Your guests not only get to sample the different types but also get to learn about how they were made too. So cool!

Plan A Surprise!   You don’t have to make it over the top or extravagant, however surprising your guests with an entertainment aspect they aren’t expecting, can be such a memorable experience! Consider having your first dance sung by a band, a caricature or even interactive games such as giant Jenga. The sky’s the limit! Explore your creative side, but remember, keep it as a surprise!
